Things I’m Loving Lately

It’s been over two months since my last loving lately post, so today, I want to talk about some of my recent favorites!

In fashion…

When I was going through my photos, I noticed that I’m wearing the same pink tank in quite a few of them, on several different occasions. Well, that pink tank (I can’t find the exact one, but this one is similar) is from Gap, one of the stores that I’m loving this summer. I do all of my Gap shopping online, usually as soon as I’m notified of one their 60% off sales, which happen often!

In beauty…

I’ve been wearing bareMinerals makeup for years, but lately I’ve been wanting more coverage for special occasions, like my friend’s wedding last weekend. A few weeks ago, I got color matched at Ulta, and fell in love with Clinique’s Even Better SPF 15 makeup. The coverage is heavier than what I need for everyday wear, but for special occasions, it’s perfect. In fact, when my friend’s airbrushed makeup started streaking down her face when she teared up before the ceremony (so disappointing), I applied my Clinique makeup on all of the streaky spots, and it blended perfectly. When my mom saw me after the ceremony, she asked me if I’d had my makeup airbrushed, but nope, it was just this foundation!

In food…

No surprise here. Chipotle is almost always a weekly treat for me, usually after I go grocery shopping. I rotate between veggie and steak bowls, depending on what I’m in the mood for, and they never disappoint. The only downside is, they just raised their prices. I’m glad that I don’t live or work by a Chipotle, because I would be tempted to go there way too often!

On the internet…

I’ve always liked Colbie Caillat, but this video makes me like her even more. In my opinion, the song isn’t just about physical appearances — it’s about finding the strength to be who we really are, without feeling any shame. It’s about standing up for what we believe in, with no apologies necessary. It’s about learning to let go of insecurities. Watch the video, but be warned if you’re at work — you might cry!

  1. I used to be religious about wearing Clinique makeup! I usually rotate between that or Bare Minerals. It’s a great product and they have so much to choose from! My favorite is the Quick Blush (which they don’t make anymore-boo) but you just twist the brush, and the blush is in the end of the cap! Perfect for travel : )

  2. Can I tell you I hadn’t watched that video from Colbie yet? I just cried my eyes out watching it (can I blame that on pregnancy?)…it is terrific and so true. I am LOVING this weather here in Indiana lately and I’m loving Seagrams Flavored Seltzer Water – nothing bad in it and I feel like I’m being bad and having a pop (soda, whatever you might call it!)

    1. I warned you that you might cry :). Haha, I call it pop too. I’ll have to try that, because I drink plain club soda pretty often!

  3. I love Colbie Caillat’s voice. It’s so smooth and soothing. My husband gave me tickets to a really small concert venue to see her for our 3 month dating anniversary. He was racking up points already! 😉 I have a long flowy tank from Target that I LOVE. I’ve noticed that just about every time I actually dress up to go somewhere this summer, I’ve been wearing it. Oops.

    1. That’s good to know! I wear bareMinerals bronzer right now and love it, but when it runs out, I might check out Clinique. You pretty much just described my weekday makeup routine — foundation, bronzer, mascara :).

  5. They are building a new Chipotle close to my house. I usually get the same thing as you at Qdoba. I always feel like I could make the same thing at home though, so I’m not sure I’ll be too tempted to eat at Chipotle all the time. I’m curious how it compares to Qdoba…

  6. I just recently saw that Colbie Caillat video a few days ago on Facebook and LOVE it and I think it sends such a great message to young girls. I wish more artists would come out with videos like this promoting healthy body image and to love yourself!
