First of Fifty Dates

Jordan and I had a really nice weekend. We had dinner at Santorini’s with my sisters and my sister’s boyfriend, celebrated my dad’s birthday with dinner at my parents’ house, got all of our grocery shopping for the week done, and we had the first of our 50 dates for the year!

We decided that we are going to take turns making plans from week to week, and I was up first! Earlier in the week, I picked an activity and wrote it down in a book that we’re using for date planning . My original plan — sledding in the park with drinks at Starbucks afterwards — didn’t work out, unfortunately.  I woke up to winds sounding like they were shaking our entire house. Considering our house is brick, I knew it was bad. Instead of freezing our faces off in the wind, we decided to skip the sledding and go to Starbucks for an afternoon coffee date instead.

Jordan and I go to Starbucks, one of the only two coffee shops in town, pretty often, but we usually grab it to go and sip our drinks while driving, or we bring it home. It’s been a few years since we’ve sat down at Starbucks and talked, and it was really nice! We had our third date there, so it brought back a lot of memories.

This week, it’s Jordan’s turn to plan a date, and I can’t wait to see what it is! If you’d like to follow along on our dating journey and/or get more date ideas, you can search for the hashtag, #eandj50dateschallenge. I’ll be using it all year long. If you’re participating, let me know where I can follow you!

Have a happy Monday!

What’d you do over the weekend?

That looked like such a fun and peaceful date. I’m glad you had a great time and I think the 50 dates is such an awesome idea.

My weekend was pretty much snowed in but I enjoyed it!

  3. That sounds like such a good date! I love simple dates like this, where you and your husband can just talk and relax without distractions. Some of our favorite dates are going to get frozen yogurt and just talking. :) We aren’t coffee people so we don’t really do coffee dates. :)

Excited to follow along on your dates :) I love going to Starbucks – it’s too expensive for regular visits so it always feels like a treat when we do go.

How simple and fun! We have some gift cards to Starbucks for Christmas, so we’ll have to d this too. I think I want to do some sort of “how well do you know me game” with me husband this weekend. I’ll try to find something online to help with this random idea, lol.

This 50 dates challenge is adorable- I love it!

Simple dates like coffee are the best, in my opinion. You really just get to enjoy each other’s company and relax, rather than being caught up in some huge activity. (:

  14. You look so pretty :) You’re skin looks amazing too! Mine is SO dry and dull this time of year. Ugh.

I love that you and Jordan are being so intentional about dates this year. Marty and I need to improve in this department. :)

Aw, thanks! Mine is too, but this winter I’ve been moisturizing with Cetaphil moisturizing cream (I got it at Target in a big tub) at nighttime, and I think it’s working! I was afraid that it would make my face break out, but it hasn’t been too bad so far. Also, BareMinerals bronzer is my go-to product at this time of year. I look sooo pale without it!
