The Winter Blahs

I think I’m past the winter blues and into the winter blahs. To give you an idea of what’s been going on, winter break has only been over for three weeks, and the school districts have now had five snow days and three 2-hour delays, the third one being this morning. I heard on the radio that if we get six more inches of snow before February (we’re supposed to get more this weekend), it will be the most snow Indiana has seen in one month, ever. Crazy.

This week has consisted of a lot of slow, lazy mornings with the girls I nanny, quite a few cups of hot chocolate, and a couple of quick, at-home workouts. It’s hard to stay motivated when the temperatures are in the negatives and the roads are icy, but with spring break right around the corner, I’m trying to make healthy food and exercise a priority.

I’m definitely looking forward to the weekend, where I can hide from the cold and watch the pretty snow fall from inside. I have to admit, I still love the snow.

  1. This weather is getting a little tiring at this point. I don’t ever remember the last day the kids around here went to school on time. I feel so thankful to have gotten a bike trainer this year so I can get good cardio workouts in without leaving my house!

  2. I can’t even imagine all that snow. I think it sounds magical, but that’s coming from a southern girl who gets excited about flurries! We’ve had an unusually cold winter and I’m also finding it’s SO HARD to be healthy. All I want to do is drink hot chocolate loaded with marshmallows and watch Netflix shows. haha
