1. I have been so tired this week. I replaced two of my workouts with naps. My energy needs to come back soon, because my half marathon training plan starts on Monday!
2. Girl Scout cookies came in yesterday! Is it just me, or did the cookies get smaller and the boxes more expensive? I’m pretty sure that the price has gone up $1.50 since I was in Girl Scouts. And the Samoas seem comically small. Nothing stays the same!
3. Is anyone else excited that Valentine’s Day is less than a week away? It’s always been one of my favorite holidays, probably because I like hearts, and pink, and all things girly
. I’m going over to my parents’ house on Saturday to decorate Valentine’s Day cookies with my mom and sisters — it should be fun!
4. On Sunday, I’m trying a new workout class called R.I.P.P.E.D. My friend invited Jordan and I to take the class with her and her husband, and we’re going to give it shot! I’ve put intense workouts on the back burner this week, so it’s much needed!
5. We went through our first round of houses on Tuesday night. We didn’t care for anything that we saw, but it was interesting to see what’s out there. We did end up going through that house built in 1906. Apparently, it was the very first house in our town to have a bathtub! It was a really cool house, but we both decided that we’d never sleep at night if we lived there. The bedrooms felt like something straight out of ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ No thanks.
6. Lent starts on the day before Valentine’s Day. I can’t decide if I want to give up sweets again or not. No chocolate on Valentine’s Day? Extra difficult.
7. I need more ideas for my lunchbox. I’m never hungry for lunch during my 10:20 lunch break, so I eat small snacks throughout the day. This week, fruit and Greek yogurt have been my main staples — but it’s not enough, and I’m starving by the time that I get home. Any ideas?
8. I’ll leave you with this. Just say no — it’s my goal for the year.
Do you like Valentine’s Day?
Are you good at saying “no”?

I am horrible at saying ‘no’ when someone asks me to do something, I should work on that. I am not a huge fan of Valentines day. I think you should show the people you love and care about how much you love them every day! I also feel bad for people who turn themselves into a pity party of one because they think being alone on Valentines day is the end of the world.
I love that quote and often need to remember it as well. I have NO IDEA what to give up for lent this year, I would love to give up sweets as well……but my little mans 1st birthday is coming up and I SO want to indulge in some CAKE on his special day. lol Hope you have a great weekend!
Aw, Happy (almost) 1st Birthday to him!
Maybe trailmix or veggies and dip for snacks? Those are a few of my favs
Yes, veggies and dip is a good one!
I am glad you got some naps, we all have those super tired weeks. just happens and it means you will feel extra rested for next week. I am a snack monster, maybe try more high protein things like nuts.
I love GS cookies! I can never say “no” to them!
I’m with you on the girl scout cookies. My peanut butter patties were SO thin – like thin mint thin. Where’s the cookie?!
I am so terrible at saying no because I am a people pleaser. I like the idea, but I always seem to have a hard time with it. I love that poster, though, because it’s so true. And saying no sometimes would certainly cut down on how stressed out I get.
Happy Friday!
Yes, Girl Scout cookies shrunk horrifically. They’re now more like bite-sized cookies bites. Have fun house hunting!
I know! Glad I’m not the only one who thinks that! Thanks
.
I love Valentine’s Day. My husband and I are going away for the weekend and I plan on bringing homemade chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to celebrate!
Aw, fun!
I snack all day too and my go-to’s are a half nut butter sandwich, fresh fruit, hummus with veggies and homemade granola bars.
Finally someone else who enjoys Valentines day. I’m sorry for those who are not in relationships or certified grumps but I love that Holiday. I just find it adorable.
I am sad that GS cookies have shrunk…you are right. We need to go back to when we were Girl Scouts LOL!
I know, haha!
I’m not very good at saying no, but being injured this week I learned a lot on how to relax! It was a huge wakeup call.
for lunches you could always bring a whole wrap cut in half (or sandwich) and eat half at a time with some apple slices or baby carrots?
Yeah, I did that with a sandwich today and it worked out pretty well. Thank you
!
I got part of my Valentine’s surprise early today … my husband sent chocolate covered strawberries to the house.
So sweet. And I love Valentine’s Day, but I’m actually going to be flying to Florida on V-day this year, so I won’t get to spend the day with my hubby. Oh well … we’ll just have to celebrate every other day next week!
Aw, that’s so sweet that he surprised you early, though!
I felt 1 & 2 this week! I was unusually tired most of the week. Not sure what was up with that. And yes, I was not pleased with the size of our Girl Scout Cookies this year! I thought the box was definitely smaller!
I love V-day! I’m working on saying “no” more too…no to things I don’t want to do, take on, or distract myself with.
Ohh, those Girl Scout cookies are so evil
. I try not to even buy them because I have zero self control when it comes to them, especially the Tagalongs, Do-Si-Dos, and the Shortbread cookies.
Some possible ideas for your lunchbox: fibrous vegetables, like carrots, with hummus, and high protein snacks like almonds and healthy protein bars (Larabars, Kit’s Fruit + Nut bars, Zone Perfect Perfectly Simple bars, Luna Bars). Hope that helps a bit!
That does help, thank you!
I definitely agree that Girl Scout cookies are 1) smaller 2) more expensive. Makes me sad. I feel like when we were in Girl Scouts they were much bigger (or were we just smaller and they appeared bigger?)
Haha, I was wondering the same thing.
