1. Thank you all so much for your encouraging words on Wednesday’s post. I hope that we can all find peace this year, in one way or another.
2. After today, I will have made it through my first week back at work! It was a challenging one, but I’ll tell you what, I really appreciate my free time now!
3. I get to see this girl this weekend! That last time that we saw each other, it was September — it’s been too long!
4. I really miss running. Kinda crazy, considering that I used to hate running. I’ve gotta let my knee and shins heal this month so I can start up again next month (hopefully)!
5. On Monday, Jordan and I will celebrate our six “monthiversary.” Okay, so we’re not actually going to celebrate, but can you believe that we’ve already been married for half a year? Crazy!
6. Until I can get my work schedule under control, my blogging schedule may be closer to three days a week than five. Lesson planning is no joke.
7. I’m kind of ecstatic that ‘The Bachelor’ is back. Sometimes it’s nice to sit back and watch mindless TV, feeling thankful that I’m not the girl making a fool of myself on the show
.
8. Our (bare) Christmas tree is still up. It’s weird, I know, but we’ve had plans every night this week, and by the time we get home, the last thing we want to do is take our tree down and drag it to the trash compactor. Tomorrow is the day that it will come down. And our apartment will look so much bigger.
9. Jordan and I began house hunting this week, and we’ve already discovered one thing that’s going to get in our way — expensive tastes. We both have them. Jordan really wants to build, but the price tag that comes along with a custom built house is discouraging. I really want a basement, but they’re really rare (and therefore, more expensive) in Indiana. This should be interesting…
10. I’m ready for a relaxing weekend. TGIF
.
What are you up to this weekend?
Did you take all of your holiday decorations down?

Wow I really can’t believe how long you guys have been married. I’m excited that you miss running though. I think it’s a funny thing, I never enjoy painful runs or difficult runs but giving it a break sometimes I always miss it a lot. I think I’ll probably have expensive taste in houses as well-but I def don’t need to be thinking about that right now ha ha.
Congrats on 6 months!! I also have expensive taste… I’m looking at moving apartments right now and I cant seem to find one in my price range, hmph!
Congratulations on 6 months! Try not to get discouraged with the house hunting. When the time is right, your perfect house will present itself! This weepkend we have a surprise birthday for our friend and I have a horseback riding lesson!
Don’t get discouraged with house hunting!! We looked at a bunch of houses before we found what we really wanted. And as always, make sure to look past the cosmetic things like paint, ect. Don’t worry, you’ll find your house one day!! OH MY GOSH it’s been 6 months already?! It seems like just yesterday we were driving down eating crab chips to come see you!! (I didn’t tell you about that?? We will have to tell you the story this weekend!)
I totally agree with you on the paint/cosmetics! I HATE on house hunting shows when people won’t consider the house just because of the paint color. That’s super easy to fix!
I know. The biggest problem is the basement. Indiana houses just don’t have them, unless we go up on our price range. I can look past the paint!
People just love the bachelor, I am a reality show addict but strangely have never got into that show
I feel like I haven’t seen you in forever. And it’s been way to long since we’ve watched HIMYM. We need to fix that
I didn’t realize basements are rare in Indiana!? I thought it was kind of a midwest thing to have basements, do you all not get many tornados?
I agree – I had no idea that you guys didn’t have basements in Indiana. Now that I think about it, my uncle doesn’t have one! Weird!
No, tornado season is really bad here, but we have a high water table, so they tend to flood, and therefore, people are afraid to have them! I want one for storage and tornadoes!
I miss running too. I don’t know why, but I just can’t get motivated to do so. I think I know it will be hard/difficult to get back into it (I really loose my endurance quickly – I know I’ll have to build it up again) so I keep putting it off. The cold weather doesn’t help with the motivation. I’m looking forward to bright mornings so I can get out before work and not be so discouraged by it being dark at 7AM.
I also love watching The Bachelor!! The last couple of seasons of the Bachelor/Bachelorette haven’t been very entertaining but after one episode, I can tell that this season is going to be really good! Can’t wait!
Happy house hunting! How exciting!
Wow! That’s so surprising to me that you guys don’t often have basements in Indiana! Not just from a severe weather standpoint, but also from a furnace standpoint. I was under the impression that most homes in northern climates had basements because they needed a place to put all the heating mechanisms that come along with living in the north…must be you guys find somewhere else to store yours haha.
Yeah, for people who don’t have basements, they’re usually in the laundry room. Attractive, I know. Both Jordan and my parents both have basements, though, and I’ve always grown up with one, so it’d feel weird to me not to have one!
I still have a bare Christmas tree standing in the corner of my living room as well
It seems that I always need multiple days to deal with my tree. When I’m putting it up, I need one day to bring it out, make the branches look all pretty (I have a fake tree), and put the lights on it; and then I need another day to actually put the decorations on. When it comes to taking it down, I do all the decorations one day, and take the tree apart on another. I want to say that I’ll attack that chore this weekend, but that might be a little bit ambitious.
Happy Friday!
