WIAW #12: A Day for Lounging

Thank you for all of your nice comments on yesterday’s wedding recap :). I couldn’t believe that it’d been a month since my last one — I have a few left, and I’m going to try to do them more often!

So, yesterday was a little bit of a lazy one for me. Jordan has been working late and sleeping in late, and it’s throwing off my routine because I’ve been sleeping in too. By the time he left yesterday, it was almost 11:00, and I was still in my pajamas. I didn’t manage to change out of my pajamas until 4:00, when I finally put on my workout clothes, did some ab exercises and met my friend for a walk. Oh well, it was a very gloomy day and leaving our apartment wasn’t very appealing to me anyway :). With that being said, I tried to keep my eats as healthy as I could manage, especially since I splurged so much last week when we were on vacation. Thank you to Jenn, for hosting What I Ate Wednesday!

Spooky Snacks and Healthy Halloween Treats

Breakfast (9:00am)

Oatmeal topped with half of a pumpkin applesauce muffin, peanut butter, cinnamon and chocolate chips. And a cup of coffee on the side.

Lunch (1:00pm)

On Monday night, I made Kristin’s Autumn Chopped Salad for dinner, and we had just enough leftover for one more entree salad. Since we seemed to have picked most of the toppings off on Monday, I added more diced apples and a mini cucumber to my salad. I don’t know why I don’t make entree salads more often — this one was so good!

On the side, I had another pumpkin applesauce muffin topped with a little bit of Nutella.

Snack (3:45pm)

Before my workout, I had a cup of FAGE Greek yogurt topped with Grape Nuts.

Dinner (7:30pm)

After doing some ab exercises and walking 4.5 miles, I was very hungry by the time dinner rolled around! Thankfully, Molly and I had plans to grab Chipotle. I got my usual vegetarian burrito bowl. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had — notice how the guacamole is already turning brown? — but it filled me up.

Dessert (9:30pm)

While waiting up for Jordan to come home, my stomach started growling again (I’m not even kidding — maybe it’s because I ran yesterday?) and I was craving something sweet. I had a cup of vanilla ice cream topped with a little bit of peanut butter and some chocolate chips. Hit the spot!

My goal for this month, and the months that follow, is to eat more fruits and veggies. I think that I was pretty successful yesterday! As far as the laziness goes, that streak will be broken today because I am going to tackle cleaning out my childhood room. Wish me luck ;).

  1. I think that your day looks like the perfect balance of Greens & Yum!!
    (For some reason I have that pirate song “Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!” running through my head … except for you it would be Greens Greek Yo and a biteful of Yum!) — I might be a bit hyper, #sorryimnotsorry. :)
    Seriously though, it looks excellent, and I love lounging in comfort followed by workouts with friends (totally indulging in one myself today!) — tbey can brighten even the dreariest of fall’s dreary days!
