1. If you suffer from shin splints, go buy these. Now. Grab your debit card, open a new browser, and place your order. You won’t be disappointed.
2. I ran on Tuesday. I felt good during the first mile, and then the second mile happened — blah. It was too much too soon. Thankfully, my compression sleeves saved my life legs. I’ve been living in these babies, even when I go to bed, and they make my calves feel a million times better. (Because I know that I’ll get comments about this — I know that I need to stop running for a while longer. Obviously that won’t be a problem; I’m not stubborn at all
).
3. My cousin recently opened up her very own Etsy shop. Everything that she makes is so adorable, and because I am a supporter of small businesses (and of my cousin
), I’m going to suggest that you check it out! Her prices are very reasonable, and she does custom orders (if you don’t see what you want, tell her and she can most likely make it for you). She is currently working on a gym bag for me; I’m so excited to see how it turns out!
4. This weekend, Jordan and I will be going to a family reunion (my side) for the first time as husband and wife. It seems like just yesterday I was getting questions like, “So, what do you want to major in?” Now people will be making small talk with us about marriage. Crazy how time flies.
5. Pumpkin is officially back in my life. I had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte on Wednesday, and this morning, I made my first batch of pumpkin oatmeal. Yum.
6. I’m thinking of stealing Courtney’s date night idea tonight. I feel like Jordan and I have only seen and spoken to each other in passing this week, and we are in need of a night out together. I’ll let you know how it goes
.
Have a great weekend!
Do you ever take control and plan dates for your boyfriend/hubby?
How have you used pumpkin this week?

YAY! Do the date night ideaaaaaa
Wow that oatmeal looks awesome. I made pumpkin oats for a snack the other day but I think next time I’ll be adding some chocolate chips
Also, those shin ‘compressors’ look really helpful. I might just have to get a pair. Hope you and Jordan have a great date night tonight!
Isn’t it amazing how you can see each other but not really be together? That even though you live together quality time can be lacking? I’ve totally taken control of date nights before. I’ll say let’s go on a date or let’s watch a movie or play tennis or whatever.
We used to have date night every other Wednesday and would alternate who would plan it. We’d text each other mid-day and tell where and when to meet. It was fun that we didn’t know where we were going until the day of because it added an element of surprise. We’d plan something special too.
Now we just make a concerted effort to spend quality time together and our dates aren’t as elaborate as they used to be. But they accomplish the goal: quality time to reconnect.
That’s a cute idea! And yes, it’s crazy how little time we spend together even though we live together. We’re still trying to figure out how this marriage thing works
.
I have never tried compression socks before, they look awesome though
Your cousin’s projects are so cute! I’m definitely going to be looking into ordering a few things come Christmas time!
The date night idea sounds like fun! ……I wish I lived a tad less in the middle of nowhere now. We have to drive for at least 40 minutes to get to a town that has a restaurant, a theatre, a redbox, OR ice cream. Oh the good life in the middle of nowhere!
The compression sleeves are super cute in pink! Glad they are helping you out!
We usually have to drive 20-30 minutes to do fun things too, so I kind of know how you feel, though my town is constantly growing. No ice cream within 40 minutes of your house? I wouldn’t like that
!
I have the same compression sleeves (in the same colour! Clearly we have spectacular taste!) and a pair of full compression socks (that cover my foot) and totally credit them with saving me. I was having INTENSE pain in my foot and ankles. Turns out my tendons were all sorts of inflamed. I was living in the socks 24/7 (unless I was out running, then I was using the sleeves). If I took them off, the pain would be back within 2 minutes! They held me over until my new shoes came (I had been running in WAY wrong shoes), but they were actual legit leg-savers (if not life-savers).
haha.
Long way of saying — Three cheers for compression socks!
I agree
! I’m glad that they helped you too!
I like planning date nights and we keep a running list of things we want to do (that we both add to)…though we usually have opposite schedules and it’s tough to pick a date in advance. We usually have one a week though…I need that quality time
WAHOOOOO. Legit so happy those things are working well for you.
You will be back to it sooner rather then later!
Thank you!!
those compression socks look perfect. I wish they weren’t 40 bucks.
hehe.
I know! I’ve been getting my money’s worth though, haha.
That bowl of oats has me hungry!! I love the choc chips addition!
I have those same compression sleeves in purple! It helps so much to sleep in them!
Just so ya know, I totally relate about being stubborn and wanting to go out and run sooner than you should. For me, I wasn’t doing it because I felt like I had to run or else I’d lose my fitness or gain weight or anything …. I was just so worried that I wouldn’t be prepared for my half-marathon if I didn’t get back out there. And I have a feeling you’re the same way. So believe me, I get it. But I still think you need to suck it up and STOP RUNNING!!
I say that in love! Good luck, my friend!
Yes, that’s exactly how I feel! I will take your advice
. Thank you!
Those pumpkin oats look amazing!! I hope you have fun at your family reunion!
Thank you!
I think I need to make some pumpkin pancakes
You should!
