I’m a summer girl. Every year, I look forward to pulling out my shorts, tank tops and flip-flops, and I try to enjoy it as long as I can. I love the sunshine, warm mornings, and long days. My birthday is in the summer, my anniversary is in the summer, and the summer always reminds me of carefree days spent with my sisters and cousin. For some reason, summer always just seems so much simpler.
However, since I live in the Midwest, I know that the feeling of summer won’t last forever, and it’s probably a good thing; I wouldn’t appreciate it otherwise. Since we haven’t seen the sun since Thursday, and the temps are slowly dropping, I figure it’s time to start getting excited about fall. There are plenty of things to look forward to, after all.
Pumpkin.
I could eat canned pumpkin with a spoon if I wanted to. I bought two cans today, as well as this Green Mountain Coffee in Pumpkin Spice (it’s pretty good!). Pumpkin Spice at Starbucks comes out tomorrow in Indiana, so I might just be making a stop there, as well
.
Fall Scents.
I stocked up on candles and hand soaps at Bath & Body Works over the weekend. I love walking into a house that smells like fall — it always feels so warm and cozy, and reminds me of Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Thanksgiving.
Apple Orchards.
Date Nights.
You can swim and eat ice cream as much as you want, but eventually you’re going to feel waterlogged and get a stomach ache. In the fall, I think that it’s easier to have creative dates nights, and you don’t have to worry about sweating in the heat!
A Fresh Start.
The start of a new season is a good reason to get healthy, on the inside and the outside. I plan to eat a little cleaner, work out more consistently, and put a little more effort into my look (summer humidity = lots of messy buns). Sometimes getting healthier can seem expensive, but all three of the above products are under $20 when purchased from Swanson Vitamins! I’m excited to swap out oatmeal for buckwheat a couple of times a week and add coconut butter to my baked goods. I’m also hoping that the tea tree oil scrub will smooth out my skin after being in the sun and wind all summer long! If you’re looking for way to get healthier without spending a ton of money, check out Swanson’s website. They have everything, name brands included!
Yoga Pants.
Hoodies.
Hot Chocolate.
Outdoor Runs.
I am running the Pretty Muddy run at the end of September, a half marathon at the beginning of November, and a Drumstick Dash on Thanksgiving morning.
Bonfires.
Starting new traditions as a married couple.
What are your favorite fall things?
What are you looking forward to the most?
*I received Swanson’s health products free of charge. All opinions are my own.

Oh my gosh, I love everything about fall! I love the weather, fall fashion, fall scented candles, cooking with pumpkin & apples & butternut squash, watching football, and of course Halloween and Thanksgiving. I could go on and on.
The thing I am looking forward to the most is introducing new traditions into our family now that we are a family of 3!
That will be fun!
Our posts are very similar today
I noticed that
!
definitely looking forward to pumpkin! I’m trying to hold off until a little later in September so I can fully enjoy it in cold weather:) can’t wait!
pumpkin pumpkin all the way!!!
I’m excited for the fall candles! And cuddling up by a fireplace with lattes with a good book
i love that fall bucket list! I must make one for myself! (:
The things I’m looking forward to are: drinking tea, pumpkin everything, wearing my fleece jacket and scarves again (though that won’t be for a while – I live in Texas), football, my birthday, temps under 100 degrees, and trying out new traditions with my fiance.
I just got a pumpkin spice latte and it’s making me excited for Fall! This post makes me want to go decorate for fall and carve a pumpkin!
I need to do a fall post! I love all of these things. Marty and I made a ‘fall bucket list’ and I am looking forward to checking things off
There are so many wonderful things about each season- I’m a fan of fall FOOTBALL SEASON!!! My husband is a football coach so I get about 20 hours of football each day- okay, maybe an exaggeration but I watch more games, NFL games, and breaking down game film than any girl I know.
New traditions as a married couple… my heart just melted! AW! ….My husband and I are excited to start traditions as a FAMILY now, instead of just a couple- it’s wonderful!
Aw, yes, that’ll be so much fun now that you have a baby!
I love your fall bucket list! I absolutely love bonfires, hoodies, hot tea, pumpkin, and winter squash!!
I use that same tea tree oil scrub from swanson’s for my face– loving it! Hope you like it too. I’m really looking forward to fall foliage (not here in SF, but when I go visit New England), boots, and picking out pumpkins
I love all of the things that you listed! So excited for this change in season!
Pumpkin spice coffee and honey crisp apples
Yum!
I am definitely a summer girl too! I think if I could, I would wear a sundress 365 days a year
But the biggest thing that get me amped for fall is Pumpkin! I love how it is officially September so there is no shame in including pumpkin in you daily food!
I love fall, lounging in sweatshirts, covered up with a blanket and sipping on a hot mug of chai tea!
Thanks for mentioning the Pretty Muddy race. I would love to do that. But I am sad they aren’t coming to Indy. I’ve done two Warrior Dashes this year and going to do the Disaster Dash Indy as well, so I would love the Pretty Muddy race!
Hello to you my fellow northside Indy gal:)
I know, I wish that they were coming to Indy too, but I thought that a trip to Columbus would be fun!
