1. Now that I have a job, I feel like it’s appropriate to say, “TGIF!” I’m working a longer shift today, and then Jordan and I are going to see ‘The Campaign’ with some friends. I’m not so sure how I feel about the movie (or what I’ve seen in the previews), but he’s excited.
2. Only one week and four days until Starbucks’ pumpkin spice is back! I’ve heard that they’re releasing the flavor early in some states, but really, how much earlier can you get than that? It’s kind of like when they start playing Christmas music before Halloween — too early!
3. This week, my body has been rejecting my training runs. I hopped on the treadmill yesterday for my 3-miler, and my legs wouldn’t go anywhere. I was basically hobbling. I know the difference between being sore and being in pain, so I walked a mile and a half, and then I came home and did Yoga for Runners. I’m still having some major shin and calf pain, but I’m hoping that ice and rest will do the trick. I don’t want to give up so soon!
4. I am officially obsessed with Instagram. I signed up last week, and I’m still figuring it all out, but so far it’s been fun. You can follow me @perfectionisnthappy
.
5. Today is my grocery shopping day! I haven’t been since last Thursday, and our fridge is looking pretty bare right now. My list is made, and I will be heading to Target soon.
6. I am running another women’s mud run. This time, in Columbus, Ohio! I lived in the Columbus area all through elementary school, so I’m pretty excited to go back for a day. If you’d like to participate, check out the Pretty Muddy website. Registration is officially open!
And with that, I must get going! Have a great weekend!
Do you make a grocery list before you go shopping?
Do you ever feel pain when you run?

You know I make a list! The mud run sounds fun! And I might be slow but what the heck is spaghetti squash??
It’s a type of squash. When you cook it and scoop it out with a fork, it looks like spaghetti.
Oh man, you better believe I make a list before grocery shopping. I’d be a hot mess of 20 bags of Chex Mix and an equal amount of chocolate chips with no produce (or anything I actually need) to speak of if I didn’t haha. It’d seriously be a disaster if I went shopping without one. I have a hard enough time sticking to my grocery budget when I know exactly what I need!
My legs have pretty much hated me since March. I just accept now that my calves will always be stiff when I start a run and tight when I finish. Since I can usually shake out the stiffness, it doesn’t bother me too much, though it does make Mile One suck (and nothing kills your mojo on a long run quite like a crappy first mile). I now always stretch as soon as I get home for quite some time, and I’ve found that frozen vegetables and my compression socks are my best friends. It doesn’t solve the problem, but it makes it bearable at least.
jealous you have so many mud runs near you! What fun! I hope you have a great friday and I couldn’t agree more, tgif!
I feel tired legs about half my runs. As far as actual pain, it comes and goes sometimes. I don’t know-I don’t ever run if I know the pain is injurying but there have been weeks (like now) that none of my runs feel that great. I find it coincides for me personally of not having enough sleep.
Oh yes, a grocery list is a MUST for me! I need to head to the grocery store today, but I’m procrastinating. Reading blogs seems like much more fun!
Haha, I understand
!
I am so looking forward to pumpkin drinks, foods, etc. but I’m trying to wait until September before I dive in. Here’s to holding out for a few more days…
I’m looking into this mud run. Looks like a blast. I might have to do it!!
You should do it!
I’m such a list person when it comes to shopping! Of course other randomness always ends up in my cart
Hope you had a great first week of work!
I am a huge list person! I can’t imagine shopping without one, haha!
