Going to the Chapel

It’s 5:52 a.m. on the morning of my wedding, and I can’t sleep. Season 5 of ‘How I Met Your Mother’ is in my DVD player to help pass the time, but I’m not even paying attention to it. In one hour, I have to get out of bed, go for a walk, and get ready to get married. The feeling is surreal.

The rehearsal helped calm my nerves. I cried, but only after it was over, when I saw my grandma, my cousin and my aunt crying too. You see, my grandpa died six months ago yesterday, and it kind of hit us that he’s not going to be there today, at least in body. I’m sure he has a front row seat from heaven, along with my other grandpa :) .

No matter how I feel today, the important thing is that I get to marry my best friend — and I really do think that once the nerves calm down, we’re all going to have so much fun.

Now, I need to try to get some more sleep. The next time I talk to you, I’ll be a wife!
