I spent ten hours in the car on Saturday — as a passenger — and it completely wore me out. I guess sitting will do that to you. Why was in the car for 10 hours on Saturday, you ask? Well…I was
driving riding to go pick up a very important piece of furniture for our new home – a bed. We were given a bed as a wedding gift, but we had to go to Michigan to pick it up. It turned out to be a very long day, but it was still a nice one. My parents, Jordan and I took my grandma out for a sushi lunch (at my favorite sushi restaurant, the same one who catered my shower!), and then we stopped by my beloved frozen custard place, Ritter’s, before heading back home.
Needless to say, Sunday was basically a complete day of rest. I finished typing up our wedding programs, managed to make it through ‘Father of the Bride’ without crying, and packed up another small load of stuff to bring to the apartment.
And now we’re to Monday — with five days left until the wedding. Five days! Here’s what I still need to do before Thursday (remember, Wednesday is my cut-off ):
- Make nail appointments for my sisters and I
- Buy an aisle runner
- Print the programs
- Wrap the bridal party gifts
- Pick up Jordan’s wedding band/ have my ring cleaned
- Figure out how to attach the bows to the chairs in the church (this is turning out to be more difficult than it sounds)
- Finalize a wedding day itinerary for the bridal party and photographer
- Start packing for the honeymoon
I feel like I’m forgetting some more little things, but I’m sure I’ll remember them as I start tackling the list. We also need some lamps for our apartment, because as I learned on Saturday night, we are in total darkness in three of the rooms after 9:30pm. I think I trip to Target is necessary today .
And with that, I am off to enjoy my first day of ‘wedding week.’ Lots of things to do!
What’d you do over the weekend?
If you’re married, did you take time off before your big day? Would you?
