Friday Things

1. Today was my last day of summer camp. This week was cruise-themed, and to end the week with a bang, we had a “fancy dinner & dance.” We wore fancy party dresses and ate fancy food (spaghetti, green beans and garlic bread — for lunch). I’m not quite sure how I feel now that I am done — it doesn’t feel real. I mean, didn’t camp just start?

2. One week and a day from now, I will be getting married. I feel like an emotional wreck right now, because I have so many things to think about and so many emotions to deal with. I’m excited, sad, nervous and anxious all at once. I’m wondering how I’ll feel when I’m not working and have even more time to think about it!

3. Last night, my friend and I went shopping after work. I went with the intention of buying two pairs of flip-flops, and ended up with one dress, three shirts, and a wedding day clutch. No flip-flops, though!

4. As far as wedding planning goes, I’ve decided that my cut-off for any last minute details is Wednesday. If it’s not done by Wednesday, it won’t be getting done at all. At least, that’s what I’m saying now.

5. I can now add “short bus driver” to my resume. I was the designated bus driver for field trips this week, and after a couple of laps around the parking lot, I was allowed to take it on the road. I actually learned how to drive in a full size van, so I guess all of that practice paid off ;) !

6. I have to be honest — I kind of feel like crap. Thanks to the holiday, I’ve been eating way too much junk this week, haven’t gotten more than 6 hours of sleep per night, and I’ve exercised a grand total of two times. A sweat session is in order before dinner tonight, and I need to get myself back on the healthy bandwagon. I don’t want to feel like this so close to the wedding! The 105 degree temperature and humidity isn’t helping much either — I could barely get my ring on my finger this morning!

7. I must work out now. Have a great weekend!

  1. My ring is practically impossible to get on and off these days! I have to hold my hand under running water to get it off … which always freaks me out, for fear that I could drop it down the sink!

I definitely would advise you to get some much needed rest this coming week. I know it’s easier said than done, but you want to feel refreshed and energized on your big day!! :)

  2. My jeweler (we’re really close due to my obsession with jewelry since age 10) swore up and down that we’d have problems getting my wedding ring on the day of the wedding- didn’t believe him—- then sure enough it was one tight fit due to the 110* weather and just nerves… I just had to slip it on 3/4 of the way on for the ceremony and put it on for real after we said “I do!”
You are getting so close! :) Just take it all in and enjoy the moments— think: “Who will notice ________” The answer is usually no one. Which is a good thing! ….My wedding thoughts were “what do I remember about other’s weddings?” ……..If they were happy and had a good time. So— just focus on the moment and have a good time- IT’S YOUR WONDERFUL DAY!!!

How exciting!!! Everything will turn out just perfectly… Deep breathing goes a long way in those anxious moments ;)

  4. I feel the same way about summer in general! I was just thinking today that it has been summer break for me for 2 months already and I only have a little over a month left. Where did the summer go???? I feel like it JUST started! :O

I don’t even work @ the camp with you, but I totally feel like you just started there as well! I can’t believe how close your wedding is. Next weekend you’ll be a MRS.. ehh how exciting :) :)

    Have a wonderfullll weekend girl.

  6. Oh my! Your wedding has definitely snuck up! I love what Julie said above about not stressing for the little details. Obviously I’m not married, but the only thing I remember about the weddings I’ve been to is whether or not we had a great time! With you as the blushing bride, that’s pretty much inevitable :)

    Enjoy prep week!

Enjoy your week girl! Don’t work out too hard- you are under a lot of stress already. Rest up, drink lots of water, and enjoy!! I’m so excited for you!

  8. Oh my gosh, the same thing happened with my ring! And try not to stress this week. Everything will be perfect and will go exactly how you want it to. And if it doesn’t, who cares! You’re getting married! :)

  9. Bahhhhh you’re so close to being married!! Congratulations, girl! Enjoy your remaining moments of single-ish ladyhood, and I hope the wedding is beyond perfect <3

  10. I did my best to eat really really well the week before my wedding, but with everything going on there were definitely a few extra sweets compared to normal. Just try to eat as many fruits, veggies, and whole grains whenever you can ‘control’ that mean, if that makes sense. And it’s just a few days, so when those sweets are available remember to enjoy some but not over do it because you’re stressed ;) This week will be great, and yes, once it gets to about Thursday what’s done is done and everyone (people you don’t even ask) will make the whole weekend just go smoothly for you and your (nearly!) husband!

Oh.my.goshhhh!!!! 5 more days! I’m so excited for you!!!!!! Make sure you get your rest though, I know it’ll be tough but maybe take some little naps in the afternoon. With all that you have coming up you’ll need as much as you can get!!

  12. I hear ya! The holiday and summer time makes it so difficult to stay on track diet and exercise wise. I am so excited for you though! I cannot imagine how you are feeling. Try your best to relax and enjoy the ride. :-)
