I had planned to blog last night, but I was feeling pretty yucky all day at work. An hour and half nap after work, tons of water, a couple doses of Airborne, and eight hours of sleep later, I’m now feeling much more like myself. I’ve been lacking in the sleep department lately, and it’s really catching up to me. Take Sunday night, for instance. I didn’t get into bed until midnight…way past my normal “bedtime”… with good reason, though.
On Sunday, Jordan and I headed to Seasons 52 for my office Christmas party. I’d heard the restaurant mentioned in the blog world before, so I was pretty excited to try the food, as they pride themselves in offering seasonally-inspired dishes. We settled in at a table with the other members of the web team (aka all the cool writers ;)), and socialized for awhile before ordering our food.
I went with the salmon- which was delicious, and Jordan went with the steak, which wasn’t as delicious, unfortunately. We gave them the benefit of the doubt, figuring it was because they were cooking them in large batches for the party, but it was nothing to write home about. Not that I’m complaining- it was a free three-course dinner :). After enjoying our food and a glass of wine, we had a little more time to socialize, and then the games began (the games?).
The first activity of the night was the raffle drawing. When I heard that there was going to be a drawing for a Starbucks gift card, I was keeping my fingers crossed that I’d hear the CEO read those three little numbers on my ticket. I like my Starbucks, okay :)?
And….I won! A Starbucks gift card, along with a box of green tea (my favorite) that another girl at my table won in her Whole Foods gift bag, but didn’t want.
The second activity of the night was the ‘Guess the Celebrity on Your Forehead’ game. I don’t know if that’s the technical name for it or not, but we’ll go with it.
Yep, we sat around like cool kids, with post-its on our foreheads, trying to guess the celebrity. If you’ve ever seen “The Office,” it was kind of like when they played it, only with less racist remarks :).
After dinner, dessert and the games concluded, Jordan and I made our way to the valet parking line (fancy, fancy) to get the car. By the time I got home, I was exhausted, and crashed in my bed asap.
Sunday night was very nice, and now I’m excited for the other Christmas festivities I have planned for later this week! I’ll have to hold that thought though, because it’s now time for me to get ready for work. This whole not having a Christmas break thing is something I’m still getting used to!
Enjoy your Tuesday :).
