My boss is on vacation right now, so she decided to give me, and the other intern, a day off. Since I worked several hours from home over spring break, I’m not complaining. Unlike last Tuesday, I made it a point to make today productive. I may or may not still be in my pajamas, but if the answer’s not the latter, I have a good reason for it :).
It is now noon, and I have done the dishes, loaded and ran the dishwasher, put in my fourth load of laundry (two of those were sheets and towels, but I kind of neglected to wash any clothes over break…), changed my sheets, and dusted and vacuumed my room. Productive, right :)?
As I was dusting off my desk and trying to make it look more organized, I kind of began to wonder why I even have it.
As much as I would like to blog and do homework at my desk, you know, making it all official and everything,
most 100% of the time, I end up working from the comfort of my bed. It’s not that I’m actually in bed, I just sit on my bed. It’s much more comfy than my desk chair. Obviously, I can’t get rid of my desk though, since it’s a storage area for my books, papers, and picture frames :). At the same time, it’s kind of a waste of space and just one more thing that I have to clean.
Anyway…I plan to do a quick pilates session before I head to the doctor to figure out what’s up with my tummy troubles. I’m not a big fan of going to the doctor, especially when it’s a new doctor, and in this case, “the female doctor”, if you know what I mean. I need to get to the root of this problem though, and if I need second or third opinions, I’m going to have to suffer the slight embarrassment of wearing a paper thin gown and going through all of those random introductory questions again (sigh). Sidenote: When I went to the gynecologist for the first time my freshmen year, with the same issues that I’m having now, they asked me if I drank (I was 18). I said “no”, which was a completely honest answer, and they didn’t believe me. They almost went to get my mom, who was in the waiting room, to ask her. After that experience, those long questionnaires just annoy me.
Well, I am off to do my pilates DVD. And Colleen has inspired me to do a vlog post, so be on the lookout for that soon!
Do you work and/or study at a desk?
Have you had good experiences at the doctor’s office?
